Description Mary Fox was member of a wealthy Quaker family and was a benefactor of Martha Schofield's school. She writes that she is glad to give money to the school and that what she has given is not much when compared to how Schofield has devoted her life to helping African Americans. There is a note in Schofield's handwriting that "Mother Fox" died in 1903 on the day "[Schofield] went North," and she will miss her.
